Discover Pinoy Street Food

When it comes to exploring diverse flavors and street food culture, Pinoy Street Food is a fantastic way to take your taste buds on an adventure. Nestled in the heart of Valletta, Malta, on Is-Suq tal-Belt, Triq Merkanti, you'll find a cozy yet vibrant spot offering authentic Filipino street food. Whether you're new to Filipino cuisine or a seasoned fan, this place is a must-visit for anyone craving an exciting food experience.

At Pinoy Street Food, the atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing in Valletta. The staff here is friendly, always happy to recommend their favorite dishes or offer up a little background on the rich history of Filipino street food. The menu is simple, yet packed with all the classic Filipino street food you could hope for. From the crispy goodness of fish balls and kikiam (fried meat rolls) to the satisfying isaw (grilled chicken intestines), you’re in for a treat.

One of the things that truly stands out is the balut, a delicacy that is somewhat of a rite of passage for those trying Filipino street food for the first time. It's a fertilized duck egg, boiled to perfection and eaten with a pinch of salt and sometimes a little vinegar. It’s a bold choice but one that many enjoy, and if you’re brave enough to try it, you’re sure to understand why it has such a special place in Filipino culture. Another signature dish to try is adobo, a savory, tangy stew made with meat, often chicken or pork, marinated in soy sauce, vinegar, and a variety of spices.

Pinoy Street Food’s menu isn’t just about variety; it’s also about the authenticity of each dish. The flavors are a direct reflection of the street food culture in the Philippines. You can tell the chef has an intimate knowledge of Filipino cuisine, crafting each dish with care, using traditional ingredients, and presenting them in a way that feels both modern and familiar. You’ll get a taste of the real Philippines without having to hop on a plane.

What’s also great is that the restaurant embraces the communal nature of street food. It’s not just about eating-it’s about the experience. You’re encouraged to share dishes, try something new, and savor the flavors together. This makes the place perfect for groups of friends or family, making it a fun and interactive dining experience.

The restaurant’s location in Valletta adds to its charm. Valletta itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with history and beautiful architecture, and Pinoy Street Food gives you the perfect opportunity to refuel during your exploration of the city. It’s just a short walk from the bustling streets of Valletta, making it a convenient stop for lunch or dinner. Whether you're taking a break from sightseeing or looking for a place to enjoy an evening meal, Pinoy Street Food provides a welcoming retreat.

As for the price, it’s refreshingly affordable. While the food quality is top-notch, the prices won’t break the bank. You can enjoy a filling meal without feeling like you’ve overspent, making it a great choice for both tourists and locals alike. For those wanting to dip their toes into Filipino cuisine without committing to a full meal, you can also opt for snacks or smaller dishes that are perfect for sampling a variety of different street foods.

Pinoy Street Food is not just a restaurant-it’s a cultural experience. It offers a taste of Filipino street food that feels like a little slice of the Philippines, right here in Malta. The casual setting, authentic flavors, and warm service make it a standout in Valletta. Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Filipino food or a curious first-timer, Pinoy Street Food will not disappoint. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to try something new or simply enjoy a hearty meal in a welcoming atmosphere.

  • As a Filipino, their food is legit and delicious. We ordered sinigang, lechon kawali and pork sisig. My favorite is the sisig, it flavorful and crispy and it was served in a sizzling plate. The pricing is reasonable. The employees are nice.

  • I will give 5 out of 5 for Sigsig, I have never had this dish before, but very pleased the way it has been served. Staff is very friendly as well!

  • I wanted to try Filipino cusine for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised to be honest. The Sisig was served on hot plate with egg still cooking, making it look really professional. Despite quite long waiting time I have nothing negative to say. The taste was interesting in a great way and I enjoyed this different type of food experience.

  • Food was great. I ate the chicken adobo and even ordered a second serving with garlic rice. It’s inside of a food court so expect limited seating options.

  • I had a very pleasant experience with Pinoy's staff. I need wheat free & dairy free/vegan food & they were patient when I was explaining to them my requirements, were able to offer a few dishes & double-checked ingredients of their components to make sure there was nothing in them I couldn't have. They ina way put together a bespoke dish for me, but from ingredients they typically have available, which I was grateful for. I would have appreciated if there was an allergy menu available online to check ahead for wheat free dishes, but the experience of chatting to staff was pleasant & reassuring. The food was very tasty, well-seasoned, & full of varies ingredients.

  • Came to this place twice in a row! First visit we had Crispy pata and lechon kawali and garlic fried rice. Food was great but the fried rice was a bit cold so I told them to warm it and so they did. Next visit we had sisig and pork BBQ which so tasty. And for dessert we had turon…so delicious.

  • We are tourists in Malta. We got a takeaway thru Bolt. The food was excellent. Ordered plain rice, lumpia, pork siomai, mixed bbq (chicken/pork), dinuguan, ube maja and turon. My filipina girlfriend gave her thumbs up and said 'not bad at all'-- which is a very high praise for a filipino restaurant (rarely impressed by filipino restaurant as she said she can cook it at home). The turon and maja are certified 'di masyadong matamis/ not too sweet' which is apparently the highest form of praise you can give to a filipino dessert. Generous portions as well and fairly priced.
